this would also help with integrating plausible or other analytics

It’s really needed to add your blog to google webmasters, without which I can’t really find any of my blog’s content on this search engine.

this would be possible with a meta tag in the header

@Fellow Blogger! The custom_meta_tag header option handles that.

I have added Header and Footer directives for upgraded blogs. You can find the link under the homepage content on your dashboard.

Unfortunately I can’t add it to all the free blogs due to abuse since it allows people to create phishing forms, attempt scripting attacks, and all that nasty stuff that free services are generally exploited for.

spam sites really suck, i remember when i worked at a portal that had personal homepages we got complaints about phishing sites all the time including some for our own service

It should override headers, yeah.
