Option to display full post content within the blog list#202
An option to display the entire content of a post within a blog post list, rather than just the date + title … not ideal for longer posts but very useful for short updates, little notes, changelogs etc.
Example:
Posts with tag “news”
{{ posts|tag:”news” | content:True}}

This! One thing that keeps me writing on Blogger is that when you visit the blog, the posts and their content is just automatically in front of you, with some extra little info on the sidebar. The text is smaller and feels more manageable, not in your face.
Like this. Now, this blog goes wayy overboard with the fonts and styling, but this kind of layout really makes sense to me. Though maybe Bear just isn’t for me - people come here for the bare simplicity, after all! My search for a private blog platform shall continue, until I self-host and learn coding haha
@ anonymous Ya, personally I would be careful not to add too much content to any blog list page, or at the very least add a limit such as:
Check out my last 5 posts
{{ posts|limit:5 | content:True}}
| content:True … I’m just using this an example of how full posts ‘could’ be displayed.
In my case it’s more for shorter and occasional notes that I can tag and display together on a separate page away from my main blog - love Bear because it is so lightweight so I’m always wary of asking for ‘too many’ additions :)
This is now available using content:True as suggested. Note that there is additional CSS work that will need to be done to make sure this is formatted properly on your blog. Also, this feature is only available on pages and the homepage to prevent a recursive rendering of a post in a post in a post in a post.
